11wks

Its been crazy busy around here getting ready for the holidays.

Last weekend Sarah's girl scout trip participated in our little towns parade. This parade was much like the tiny little Main St it was held on.... small and friendly... we shook hands with both the police chiefs (the town is divided by a river and both east and west participated) and saw one of the fire chiefs. The town welcome center (didn't even realize they had one LOL) was proudly annoucing that they have a largest tomato competition.... we'll keep that in mind **smiles**

It was a chilly day so the girls were all bundled up but they had fun tossing candy at the small crowds along the route.

One thing I love about where we live its an amazing juxtapostion of big city and small town. The back of my house over looks a corn field and yet just 1 mile about the road is a huge shopping plaza with stores normally reserved for big city centers and if you hop on the train you can be downtown in 45mins.

This week we had our first real snowfall and yesterday we were blessed with -20f temps AWESOME (note the extreme sarcasm). Sarah is of course oblivious to the fact its freezing out and loving the snow. Her school sends them out side to play twice a day unless it is below zero so we send her to school bundled from head to toe each morning.

Here she is getting ready to go yesterday

And here is her snowman version of Dean LOL

Dean is not such a huge fan of the cold (he is his mama's boy) and has been protesting his carseat ever since I bought the car seat cover. I think he hating it because he can no longer see Sarah and is feeling like we have left him all alone because he tends to settle right down if I put my hand on his head. For the trip to Texas we are going to put Sarah's seat in the middle so that he can see her and she can be on binky patrol (it will also enable her to work the dvd controls so I don't have to lean into the back seat).

Dh took Wed off of work this week so that we could do some Christmas shopping. After we shopped we went to see Ninja Assassin..... not a movie for the faint of heart..... it was good but way to much blood and gore and not really enough plot for me. Then we went home and dragged out all of the Christmas decor... because we aren't going to be here for the holidays we only set up the essentials.

Here is Sarah working on the tree

And our mantel (not sure why it looks bronzed but the JOY is silver)

We need to get Dean a stocking to match all of ours next year and we really need to get some greener for the mantel so the wreath can be mounted. Dh was going to mount it but it looked so bare so I just had him leave it down for this year. You don't realize how huge the mantel is until you start to decorate it LOL

I uploaded over 100 pictures today to my photobucket account. Some are in the Thanksgiving 2009 and then the rest are just in the main folder. I haven't edited them or even removed the bad ones so pardon the mess LOL
