Happy Birthday Princess

Today is Sarah's 7th Birthday!!! We had a blast this weekend at the Dells and it was wonderful to see Jane.



She arrived in on Friday at 7:40 and then we headed north to the resort. We got there about 11:30, got checked in and were in bed by 12:30.... unfortunately Dean was not ready for bed after taking a 6 hour nap and he and I didn't fall asleep until 2:30 and then he was up again at 4:30 for the day....... Mama needed lots of coffee!!

Since Dean had woken everyone up we decided to let Sarah open her gifts up from Texas. From Great Grandma she got a savings bond and a magnetic dress up paper Barbie doll set. From Aunt Ann, Eleanor and Merl she got a scuba diving Barbie with 2 dolphins and from Nana Jane she got books and a bunch of Crayola goodies including the Color Explosion glow board which is really cool and flashes like a neon sign.



After a yummy breakfast at the resorts buffet we headed over to the first water park. Dean napped on Nana Jane while DH, Sarah and I took a float around the chilly lazy river. Then they went off to ride some of the slides and play on the water playground and I joined Jane to try and warm up. When Sarah got bored at that park we headed over to the wave pool and we got Dean into his suit.



He was less than pleased with the water temp even though it was much warmer than the first pool so his dip was cut short. Jane and I then headed to the lounge chairs with little man and he had lunch while Dh and Sarah swam and then headed over to a big water slide. The line for that slide was long so by the time they rode it once it was time to head back and get cleaned up.



We got back to the room showered, changed, fed Dean again and then we headed back out to another area of the resort. We ran into a minor snag when we tried to find a sit down restaurant for lunch, turns out there is only 1 on the entire resort outside of the 2 bars (which allow smoking). So we grab an "interesting" lunch poolside and then headed into the large indoor playground. Sarah and Dh had fun firing foam ball canons at other dads and their kids while Jane snuggled with Dean.



When Sarah got bored of that we play 18 holes of 3-D mini golf under the black lights. I wore Dean in a maya wrap and did pretty good for golfing one handed. We then headed over to the buffet for dinner. Dean got pretty crabby at this point (5-7pm is his normal nap time) and so dh and I took turns walking and bouncing him (he kept fighting going to sleep), catching bites of food here and there.

After that we headed back to the room, Jane, Sarah and dh got back into their suits and we headed back down to the water park. They all rode the big slide, floated in the lazy river and then played on the water playground. Dean took a nap in maya wrap while I read. We got back to room and all were in bed by 10:30. Dean had another rough night of sleep and mommy only got 3 hours of sleep.... more coffee please!!

Sunday we got up, got dressed and pack and headed to the buffet for breakfast. After breakfast we headed over to Magiquest and Sarah had fun going on her quests. Unlike the one in Myrtle Beach, this one was smaller but 4 stories and the elevator only went to the 2nd floor! We got our work out!! We also didn't realize that each Magiquest operates independantly and so all of the questing Sarah had done in Myrtle Beach and Williamsburg didn't show on her wand in the Dells (banging head on table) so we had to start from scratch and redo all of the basic quests. This was ok because it helped us learn the layout of the land but Sarah got a little bored and couldn't understand why we had to do these when we had already done them.

While we were questing Jane was snuggling with Dean and watching other players try to beat the dragon. Sarah played for 2hours and then we headed for home.

Dean slept much better Sunday night and mommy only got up once with him and then it was back to bed..... I think he missed sleeping next to his daddy (or it might have been the yucky disposie diapers we were using....bamboo velour or plastic which would you sleep better in LOL).

Today I took cupcakes into school for Sarah's birthday.... hostess cupcakes..... because of the peanut allergy in their class those are the only approved safe cupcake option ***Sigh**** gone are the days of the cupcakes in ice cream cones like my mom used to make for us. Martha Stewart is crying in her kitchen somewhere LOL

I then decorated the house for Sarah's birthday with balloons and birthday banners. She was so surprised when she came home from school. We then got daddy from work and came home for dinner and presents. From us she got a DS game and 2 craft kits and from her Nana & Grandad she got a beautiful collage frame filled with pictures of her and Nathan and her and Dean.

I think she had a pretty spectacular birthday. I will upload some pictures shortly.

This week we will be busy getting ready to go home to Va for Thanksgiving!! We can't wait!!
